Hanuš & Carol | NYMR wedding in Pickering, a fun day out for all the family with fish and chips!
Well, we'd had weeks of sunshine, blue skies and warm breezes, but Friday 6th August was to be a wet and warm one. Did it spoil their fun or their day? No, it did not! Carol and Hanuš picked a Railway Wedding, because it was not the typical way to do things, in fact, there was nothing wedding-typical about their day at all.

The railway wedding, where did you find out about it and what appealed? Carol and I are not very demonstrative or outgoing, especially when it comes to weddings. I had had previous marital experience of large formal venues, whereas Carol had not. Neither of us therefore wanted the traditional sit-down affair with speeches etc. After we were engaged in 2019, we started thinking about the type of wedding and venue we would both want that was not typical, was novel and everyone would enjoy; something different but romantic.

And romantic it was, in front of a very small and select gathering of their family they walked down the aisle hand in hand, together, ready to commit and become Mr & Mrs Wolf-yes, that is their title!
Following the ceremony, they boogied back past their guests to Parrell William's, Happy Now which really cast a wonderful atmosphere, then everyone to headed to the terrace where they would enjoy canapés and fizz together. They kept the ceremony as simple as they could, the main thing for them both was enjoying the family that they'd not seen properly for so long. Due to having to postpone their day, both Carol and Hanuš' parents were unable to be there in the end-sadly Hanuš lost his mother last September and Carol's is now in a care home and was unable to make the day, thankfully her father was able to make it.

Choosing your outfits, what was your inspiration? Did you plan together as they complimented each other well? Sadly, no inspiration at all from either of us. I (Hanus) already owned a new suit, so I did not have to make any major decisions. Carol chose her dress (I only saw it for the first time on our wedding day) because she liked the look of it.

What did you enjoy most about your day?
Carol: A relaxed atmosphere, where both families got to know each other. Having everyone come together, which we had not been able to do for a year and a half.
Hanus: The stripped-down simple ceremony, with just our close families there; the lovely atmosphere of the train ride to Whitby for lunch.
Both: Making the dress code Smart/Casual, therefore making everyone feel more relaxed about what to wear, without worrying about buying new outfits.
