On the last Friday in May, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Mollie and Chris’ North Yorkshire Wedding, and what a day it was.

Their ceremony took place at Burythorpe Church, a peaceful setting for such a meaningful moment. One of the most touching parts of the morning was seeing Mollie walk down the aisle with her mum – a moment full of quiet emotion and love.

After saying their vows in front of the Bishop, they were showered in confetti to the sound of the huntsman’s horns – a lovely nod to the traditional horseback sport that first brought them together.

The celebration continued at the family farm, where a barn at the top of the hill in Aklam became the most perfect backdrop. The views were breathtaking in every direction – honestly, they couldn't have picked a better spot. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of joy, with North South Band keeping guests entertained all afternoon, canapés circulating non-stop, and glasses of Pimm’s in hand.

The marquee/shed was full of personality and thoughtful touches. One of my favourite details? The table décor, each one named after one of Mollie and Chris’ animals, complete with beautifully hand-painted illustrations. Such a fun and personal idea, and one that had all their guests smiling as they found their seats.

A family member had made their wedding cake, what a showstopper – topped with brilliant little models of the pair that were both fun and very true to life!

But the part that really got everyone talking (and laughing)? Their brilliant twist on the wedding breakfast. They served their own beef, cooked by their caterers, and asked one guest at each table to don a personalised apron and chef’s hat before carving and serving it themselves! It was such a great icebreaker and had the whole marquee buzzing with laughter and stories being swapped over the food.

The party energy was off the charts – and it kicked off before the first dance even started. As the band began to set up, Mollie and her girls couldn’t resist the pull of the dancefloor, and once they were on it… Well, they never left! That set the tone for the rest of the night.

By the time the Tequila Rose and Jäger bombs came out, things got even livelier. Dance moves got bolder, shoes got kicked off, and the floor stayed packed right through ‘til the very end. You’ll know by now that the dancefloor is one of my favourite places to be with a camera in hand – and this one didn’t disappoint. Pure joy from start to finish, watch the slideshow below to see for yourself.

Mollie and Chris – thank you so much for having me there to capture it all. Your day was full of love, fun, and the kind of personal touches that make a wedding truly yours.
