Lottie and Ollie's wedding was a stunning celebration of love, marked by classic elegance and timeless charm. Beginning in a beautiful little church in the North Yorkshire Wolds, before a classic and elegant celebration in the garden.
Capturing Lottie and Ollie's Classic and Elegant Marquee Wedding
Photographing Lottie and Ollie's wedding was an absolute delight. The day was filled with classic and elegant vibes, where the groomsmen wore black tie and the bridesmaids wore muted green frocks of two style choices. The celebration took place in Kirkby Grindalythe Church, where they became Mr and Mrs Exton, followed by a marquee reception in the garden at Hope Farm, Lottie’s childhood home.
Classic and Elegant Outfits for their Marquee Wedding
Ollie stood out from the lads in his midnight blue dinner suit, exuding sophistication whilst still looking uniform for the photos, these two had really thought it through. Lottie was radiant in her off-the-shoulder, silhouette, Justin Alexander dress, embodying timeless elegance. This country couple was most looking forward to becoming husband and wife in the quaint church, just a stone's throw away from where Lottie grew up.
An Elegant Enterance at Kirkby Grindlyth's Classic Church
The build-up to Lottie walking down the aisle was immense. She paused with her father, Ian, waiting for the perfect moment in their song—a scene straight out of "Bridgerton." It was a proper wow moment, and it’s always lovely to see couples take their time to enjoy such a special occasion. The day passes by so quickly, so these little moments of drama add a touch of magic.
After a personalized service with thoughtfully chosen readings, the couple enjoyed a quiet moment together in the church before heading to the reception, in a classic and elegant marquee. Their journey back to Hope Farm was in Ollie’s father's prized vintage MG, making a grand entrance with all their guests eagerly waiting to cheer them on.
At the reception, guests were greeted with Aperol Spritz, Champagne, Pimms, and beers. A violinist played softly in the background as everyone mingled and congratulated the newlyweds. Lottie and Ollie included some traditional elements, such as the formal line-up, ensuring they could greet and thank each of their many guests personally.
The banquet meal, featuring a delicious array of meats and salads prepared and beautifully presented by Nabs Nosh and their team, was a hit. However, just as the speeches concluded, a waiter dramatically stumbled and fell in front of the couple’s table. Lottie, Ollie, and their guests were momentarily shocked and concerned.
Unbeknownst to them, Lottie’s parents had arranged for singing waiters to surprise the couple. The initial shock turned into sheer joy as the waiters broke into song, getting everyone on their feet. As a photographer capturing candid moments, I can attest that the singing waiters added a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. People were lost in the moment, dancing and enjoying themselves in a way usually reserved for much later in the evening.
Lottie and Ollie's wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition, elegance, and fun. The combination of heartfelt moments and joyful surprises made it a day to remember, and it was an honour to capture it all through my lens.
