  • ANNA & SCOTT | Rustic-themed, Winter Wedding Celebrations at Sandburn Hall, York.

Anna and Scott have driven past Sandburn Hall over the years and they both agreed it would be a lovely place to get married. They loved the grandeur, the rustic appearance of the wood and render exterior, especially the glazing too. When I met these two they were both so passionate about the venue itself along with the grounds and setting of it, which made me really excited to capture their day. Photos are extremely import to these two; because of this, we made sure we planned plenty of time to go out and about in the grounds of their venue, just the two of them and with their bridal party. With it being a winter wedding, the addition of a second shooter made a huge difference, it meant Alice could get among the guests, whilst I went off with these lovelies to have some fun. A wedding later in the year can mean you have to compromise with your daylight photos, you either get out for portraits and groups straight away, or you capture the mingling. I do work quickly with my couples but this made things run so smoothly. They were keen to get out after dark from some shots too, it always add as lovely variety within your gallery. This is definitely the perk of a winter wedding and thankfully we were lucky that given it had been a wet day at times, it was actually pretty mild when the sun went down for November; in fact I'd go as far to say it was probably warmer than it had been during the day. When Anna’s Dad incorporated photo in to his speech, it highlighted just how important they were to this adventurous duo, it never seises to amaze me how many fabulous and different ideas people have when it comes to these personal times of the day. Between her mum and dad they'd collected a story of Anna's life as a little girl all the way through to meeting Scott and their adventures together so far, it was wonderful to see their guests reactions to the images. Anna had chosen Mauve as her colour scheme to fit in with all of the natural wood the venue had to offer, they wanted their day to be as unique as it could be. The dresses looked incredible. At the time of choosing Anna had ordered a few different styles and then when her bridesmaids came to trying them on, they surprisingly chose two different styles, totally by chance. They looked great and popped against the autumnal colours that November has to offer. The wedding dress itself, was another phenomenal choice…Anna had been in to two different bridal shops and had by coincidence tried the exact same dress on in each, this sealed the deal for Anna and she decided it must be fate. What a stunning dress it was and the champagne undertones teamed perfectly with the mauve. She also added her sometime blue with the addition of these cute baby-blue sandals, I loved this idea, a bit different too. Anna even made matching earrings for herself and her bridesmaids, which means they now have the most thoughtful keepsake to remember their friends wedding day. They had live music played throughout their day, this was really important to Anna and Scott, they chose Undercovered to do this. Clark played thoughtout the day, first as a solo, acoustic artist and then within his band. He even learnt their chosen songs for walking Anna down the aisle to Scott, along with the first dance too. TIPS FROM THE COUPLE Make a list of everything you need to organise, time will pass quicker than you think, try ticking something off it every week, so you don't have loads to do at the end. I love to capture days like Anna's and Scott's, if you're planning something similar, please get in touch to check my availably and tell me about your plans so far! • SARAH & ALEX | Rustic, Autumn Family Wedding at Westfield Farm, Sherburn

These two met just over six years ago and they love nothing better than being outside exploring together, which is how they came across Westfield Farm, AKA Grand Get Togethers for their wedding. They were holidaying in the area when they found their venue. They booked and went to explore further, finding they totally loved it right away. They loved it's rustic charm. From the blank canvas the ceremony barn offered to the grounds it's located it. For Sarah and Alex, they wanted a small wedding where they would enjoy the company of their family for a weekend. The benefit of Westfield Farm is it can sleep a staggering amount of people, which you just wouldn’t expect and it meant everyone they invited would be able to enjoy the venue and it's adjoining 10 acres of parkland fully. The gardens were indeed incredible, there were so many places for photo opportunities, it was perfect, from the orchard to the enchanting pergola and the backdrop of the landscape beyond we were spoilt for choice, even on a rainy day. Luckily, with these two enjoying being in the great outdoors, the rain didn’t seem to spoil their day at all, Sarah just ran across the courtyard to the beautiful ceremony room and after, everyone squeezed in to the Granary, where Alex and the family got ready on the morning. Here everyone enjoyed the amazing canapés, thrown together by Alison and her team from The Willow’s Catering Co. They wanted it to be informal, which is just what they got. As they chatted and nibbled, it was so lovely to watch the close connections that Alex and Sarah have with both their families, this became even clearer during the speeches... Take a look at their day below. I totally love relaxing days like Sarah & Alex's where I get to wintness those special moment between people who think the world of one another. • HEATHER & TOM | Relaxed, Sandburn Hall Wedding with Autumnal Hues

After arriving nearly half and hour late to their first date and almost convincing Heather she was being dumped, when she was actually being proposed to, I’m pleased to report that their wedding day, at Sandburn Hall went by without a hitch. Sandburn Hall is set amongst 1000 acres of lakes and woodland, on the outskirts of York and I can see why Heather and Tom chose here for their day. It offers the most incredible views from it's floor to ceiling windows, with each gable end framing another view of the lake and wooded areas that surround it. You may even catch a glimpse of the golfers, who are enjoying a game with friends. Heather surprised Tom on their day, by hiring the fairy-lights and the autumnal trees to frame the window where they said their vows, I can see why she chose to do that, it looked just fabulous. The most wonderful thing about Heather and Tom is their amazing sense of humour, which stood me in good stead when I turned up on their doorstep a week early to photograph their wedding. What can I say, it’s been a busy year! I was however; delighted to turn up on the right day to capture the events as they unfolded, it was wonderful that in light of, my mistake it made for great banter and laughter during their portrait photos. When Heather and Tom returned their questionnaire, it made the best read, they had me physically laughing out loud as I read about how they met and how Tom proposed to Heather…Apparently, the first proposal didn’t meet Heather’s expectations, so Tom tried again and thankfully, the clifftop yielded a yes, over the original leisure centre carpark setting. These two are not used to being in the limelight though and being thoughtful people, they didn’t want to put any pressures on the most important people in their lives, so they kept thing simple and relaxed. They omitted the speeches and instead, asked Heather’s good friend (who's used to public speaking) to do a blessing for them both. Because they'd decided to say their vows and celebrate all in one place, they didn’t have the religious ceremony which was important to certain members of their family; with this in mind, they felt the blessing incorporated this nicely to balance everything. Take a look below to how it all panned out. I love to capture relaxed days like Heather and Tom's, if you're planning something similar please get in touch to check my availability. • SARAH & JAMES | Simple, Elegant Wedding at Bunny Hill with pops of Mauve.

At a time in their lives, where lots of their friends have recently been or are getting married, it was important to James and Sarah that their wedding day was unique and just as special as every other one of their friends’. They didn’t want to use the same venue, so they did lots and lots of Google research, they took a look around loads and loads of places within the area too. Finally, when arriving at Bunny Hill for a viewing, they fell in love with the place straight away! Many people were travelling long-distances to come to their day in the first place, so they wanted somewhere that could offer them a place to celebrate for a full weekend, not just the day. What they loved most about Bunny Hill, when they arrived, was the modern but traditional feeling the place offered: it’s bare-brick walls contrasting perfectly, with the dramatic grey-framed glazing, which reached up to the blue skies. They told me how they fell in love as soon as they were shown around. Not only does the place look great, it’s flooded with tonnes of natural light and has a cosy mezzanine balcony, with dark, moody lighting where they enjoyed a sneaky, espresso martini together, as their guests took their seats. I should mention, Sarah and James are utter foodies, with Sarah telling James in no uncertain terms, that she NEVER shares her food, on their first date. It was potentially, these words that made James know she was the girl for him. With this in mind, they loved working with the in-house catering team (The Hog and Apple) to customise their menu to their liking. Their menu took on a BBQ theme with this being their favourite type of food. The day was a real term effort in the end, with Sarah and her trusty bridesmaids putting together all of the flowers on the tables along with the bouquets and button holes. Another special event that happened on the run up to the day was James’ family travelling to Yorkshire where they participated in tasting and choosing the cake flavours for each layer. All they really wanted for their day was for everyone to have a good time; they wanted to enjoy seeing their friends and family and know that afterwards, they’d have made even more brilliant memories with them all. The couple chose James' sister and Sarah's cousin to do a reading during the ceremony and James' other sister along with Sarah's brother to be witnesses. It was important to them both that they involved their family as much as they could. Bunny Hill had some really beautiful places for the 'couple photos', Sarah and James enjoyed a strolled through the fairy-light, lit woodland, before going on a ride on the zip-wire to end their evening session-this was so much fun. Take a walk through their day below... • CHARLOTTE & KAI | Amazing, magical but relaxed beach wedding at Carbis Bay, Cornwall

Last year, I joined Charlotte and Kai on their greatest adventure yet! How is it a year ago since you both became Mr and Mrs Shrimpton? Charlotte spent many the summer, holidaying in the south of England on the Cornish coastline, she has so many fond memories because of this with her family. When she met Kai at Uni, she introduced him to her second home and he loved it too. Therefore, when they got engaged there was one place close to their hearts for them to celebrate together. Charlotte and Kai looked at many locations in Cornwall that were as close to the beach as possible, they narrowed it down to just two. The first one they went to see just didn't feel right and was further from the beach than it first appeared. After visiting Carbis Bay on the wettest day in February 2020 with Storm Dennis fast approaching they fell in love. It looked so beautiful and perfect even on a stormy day, so they could only imagine how it would look on a sunny one. Charlotte gushed many times to me before the wedding, “The light in the bay was just magical, the stormy sea was still a beautiful Mediterranean turquoise. Until you've been and seen it for yourself you won't believe it.” Following their visit, they asked if they could have their dogs with them and the venue said yes, it was then when they just knew Carbis Bay was the perfect place for them. The day itself was more perfect than they could have ever imagined, it began with a rainbow for starters, they enjoyed the food, especially the traditional Cornish Pasties they had in the evening and cake, made by Charlotte's Nanny Maureen was delicious. Plus having their family-dogs with them, took away the stress of worrying if they were ok and who they were with. Charlotte and Kai had very fittingly gone for a seaside theme with shells galore. For them, it was natural to go with the beach theme, they wanted neutral colours as the venue was already decorated so beautifully with the backdrop of the bay. They collected the shells from their local fishmongers at Doncaster Market (B Taylor and Son) and got most of the crafty bits for the decorations from Etsy. Another reason this themed fitted so perfectly, was due to Charlotte studying Marine and Freshwater Biology at University- this is where they met, so was the in inspiration behind the table name Aberystwyth. HERE'S SOME OF THEIR FONDEST MEMORIES A YEAR ON... Both: “Figuring out how to dance to our first dance song, that we soon realised wasn't meant for slow dancing (and succeeding!)” Charlotte: “Every single moment - really! 🙈 Having walked up the aisle to Kai, he turned to me and said "you look so beautiful.” My dad seeing me for the first time, he got all choked up and his words being "wow" and watching my mum and dad dance to the same song mum and her dad (grandad) danced to at her wedding. Also, having our family and closest friends there to celebrate with us.” Kai: “Charlotte saying yes! The first kiss as Husband and Wife and Bear getting giddy after trying to contain his excitement during the confetti throw. I loved our beach photos too.” TIPS FOR PLANNING A LONG DISTANCE WEDDING We organised and made as many decorations as we could (with lots of help from family-especially Charlotte's Mum 😉) to take down with us so the handover to the events team was easy (lots of clear labelling too!) Having an amazing wedding events team to be there to answer any and all questions we had right from booking - they thought of things we hadn't thought of! Create a checklist and check it twice before setting off (taking pics of things as you pack them reassures you and saves you unpacking to check). A smaller wedding would be more suited to this, there's less to worry about (and you can just about get away with not renting a van to take everything with you! KIND WORDS FROM THEM ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH ME! “Our amazing photographer Fiona, who we cannot thank enough for being so wonderful, she agreed to travel all that way to capture our wedding. We had so many compliments on how relaxed you made everyone feel whilst taking photos and we've already had nearly everyone say "I didn't know she was taking one then" and "awh she's captured that perfectly" and "I can't believe she snapped that" when looking at our sneak peeks pics. All of the moments you wish to capture on your special day Fiona will already have them on her camera and will go out of her way to research the area to ensure you have photos even more incredible than you expected. Thank you!” Thanks so much you guys, happy anniversary!! x SHOUT OUT TO SUPPLIERS! • RACHAEL & MATT | Minty-green, Wedding Of The Year, at Birdsall House, North Yorkshire

Rachael's self-professed wedding of the year was a blast last weekend at Birdsall House, the action packed day was a total success. It was so much fun from start to end. Rachael and Matt covered every base and made sure no-one would be bored or have a minute to think about it. The bond between these girlfriends was a joy to capture as they got ready together in the magnificent bridal suit at Birdsall House; there was tears, chatter and laughter- a lot of laughter!! Meanwhile, Matt and the boys were getting ready in Rachael's family home, just down the road in Burythorpe, what a place. Rachael's parents have to most amazing garden and the house has a balcony which made the perfect place for a few piccies. Having recently, done a stint as a wedding co-ordinator herself, there was no doubt in my mind that Rachael and Matt’s day would be nothing other than styled and fabulous. On trend with muted, minty-green, slip dresses dresses for her bridesmaids, they looked amazing carrying their traditional, bouquets which were adorn with roses and eucalyptus -perfectly put together by Kyme Queen. The boys also look fabulous in their tweed blue suits, with ties to match the colour of the girls dresses... They didn’t just think about the look of the day, the pair had crammed it full to the brim with excitement for everyone there too. As they arrive back at Birdsall House, after saying, "I will," in the quaint church just a stones trow away within Birdsall Estate they were welcomed back to the house, by a Modern Gospel Choir, whose energy and presence was felt by everyone. Their notes echoed throughout the grounds as everyone enjoyed the canapés and fizz put on by The Hog and Apple. Rachel has worked with the local caterers regularly and wanted canapés with a twist, she wanted to try and surprise everyone with something a little different. Their favourite addition being the Big Mac Spring Roll, you got it, it’s exactly what it says on the tin, all the elements of a Big Mac, but in a spring roll! Given Dan, one of the Bestmen had choked on a canapé and being saved by a passing Dr, who was one of the guests, Matt and Nick couldn't help but make a joke out of it during their photos. 🙈😂 Boys will be boys, what a good job Dan was OK and he could also see the funny side of it. After a glorious welcome, everyone enjoyed and listened to the speeches before the meal; this is becoming increasingly popular, I'm finding. Not only does it let everyone relax and enjoy their food it also makes for a quick exit when the light fades quickly and you have to nip out for portraits mid-course. At least everyone else wasn't waiting around, when we dipped out to get these. I'm so please we did as by the time pudding had been served it was pitch black! The delicious spread was served to them all, by The Hogg and Apple, before the theatrical desserts were served with dry ice alongside, it looked amazing! It's so cool when the guests get involved with the entertainment too, with friend Sinead arranging a “How well do you know the couple?” Quiz and then entertained everyone with a good old Mr and Mrs competition which was finished off with the incredible sax player who surprised everyone and had them all on their feet ready to start the evening celebrations. This is what success looks like when you win the, "how well do you know the couple?" comp, I think he was pleased! Here's a run down of Rachael and Matt's day, take a look, I love capturing action packed days like this and especially love working in places like this. • ABI & ROB | Blush-pink, Country, Marquee Wedding Celebrations at Snowhill Farm, Silsden.

Both Abi and Rob come from farming backgrounds; recently they renovated and moved to the Rob’s family farm, making it their home too. They both love the great outdoors and spending time wrapped up within their surroundings. That’s why when it came to planning their celebrations for their wedding, there was no other place for it. Snowhill Farm near Silsden, was the perfect place for their day. When I arrived I could see exactly why they decided this. Snowhill Farm is set at the brow of a hill in the Yorkshire Dales with limitless, panoramic views spanning for miles, in every direction. It was here they positioned a marquee for their celebrations, in the middle of it all, the perfect place. They named their names after different woodland trees and kept the theme going by inserting each place name into a small piece of rustic branch which looked like and mini, tree stump. They even put their cake pride of place on a wooden base which Rob had cleverly transformed from one of the fallen trees out of their own woodland area. They told me how there'd been quite a few trees that had fallen during the storms at the end of 2021. It was a thoughtful addition indeed. I told you the view was spectacular! What luck too, they didn't get any rain but they did get this incredible rainbow for all their guests to look over. Sadly, they'd had two close family members pass recently, Abi's Grandmother and Great Aunt, so I'd like to think this is them watching over everyone, making sure they all had a lovely day. Being a pretty chilled out couple, all they wanted was for everything to run smoothly and for everyone to enjoy a scrumptious feast, choosing he Hog and Apple as their caterers was a good move! They put on the most delicious BBQ styled feast for everyone to dig in and enjoy, followed by an Eton Mess with a modern twist... I don't think I've ever eaten such delicious potatoes! It was a warm crushed new post salad, with lastings of salted butted and tangy chives, yum, yum! You may have noticed I’m calling this their wedding celebrations instead fo their wedding day, this is because Abi and Rob actually got married 10th July 2020, in the height of the pandemic, with just their parents to witness. They didn’t want their day to go by unmarked and had always planned to host a party for everyone to join in a celebrate with them, it went over swimmingly, take a look here... I love capturing days like Abi and Rob's so if you are planning something similar, I'd love to hear all about it!

  • JENNA & CHRIS | Fair-themed Wedding with Food Truck and Ice-cream, at Thirsk Lodge, Barns

Thinking outside of the box was important to Jenna and Chris, who hosted their Fair-themed wedding at Thirsk Lodge Barns last weekend. There were giant colourful, inflatables galore, a food truck from their favourite food-haunt in The Shambles and an ice-cream sundae bar. When Jenna and Chris first went to look around their venue, it was actually still being built, the barns had no roofs so as the as you’d expect, was a building site. Nevertheless they joined, Letty and trusted in her vision and the plans for the venue. When the site was finished and the couple finally went to take a look around they told me how it was more than they could have ever wished for. A wild card that 100% paid off. They were totally right, the venue was amazing, flooded with natural light and still presenting all of the charm and character that the old barns would have once possessed. Letty and her team have created a stunning place for couples to share their day with others. Not only are the barns beautiful, her extensive research in to what couples need and would like on their day have really made a success of it and the day flows fluently even on the most trying of days like Saturday, when after a summer of drought we experience heavy rain and thunder storms for 80% of the wedding. When it came to food Jenna and Chris love the stuff and they love it when you get a plate of deliciousness that you can never finish too! They didn't hesitate when it came to choosing who would do their food, they chose there favourite food van from their local food haunt, based in The Shambles at York. The Taylor Made Kitchen, certainly didn't fail to deliver with the guests all raving about the food, not only did it look fantastic and taste delicious, there was plenty of it as expected. The couple had asked the guest to pre order their favourite street food in advance and then when it came to the time everyone was due to eat they simply walked outside and collected it from the food van itself, which was pretty awesome! Jenna works at Hotel Chocolate, so as you can imagine she's pretty passionate about the stuff along with different and wonderful things too, she was a huge fan of Choccywoccydoodah Cakes, so since the company had ceased trading she asked local cake makers Sweet Chic, based near York to make an inspired version. The idea of the cakes is that they are meant to be personal to the clients/couple, so their cake had included on it, their pet cat and dog along with a model of Jenna's late step-father, topped off with a model of themselves, it also included their names and was decorated purely with chocolate, it looked quite spectacular to say the least. These two are fun-loving and young at heart, they enjoy a good fair where they would be first on the amusements and attractions together. Because of this, they decided they would bring them to the wedding, they wanted their guests to have plenty of things to do together, hoping they could have a laugh and make it a day to remember. The rain jeopardised this to start with, but thankfully after the storm passed Chris and the rest of the guests got stuck in and despite getting a little wet, they made the most of it anyway! This was fantastic to watch and highly entertaining to capture... Despite the rain, Jenna and Chris’ day went by without a hitch and they managed to do everything they had set out to do, from Jenna’s brother conducting the ceremony and the relaxed set-up, where there were no tables plans at all to their guests getting to enjoy the fun inflatables outside along with the amazing Choccywoccydoodah inspired wedding cake… CREDITS TO SUPPLIERS Photos: Anoif Photography | Venue: Thirsk Lodge Barns | Dress: Bridal Factory Outlet, Northallerton | Make up: Makeup by HLA | Hair: Hair by Ria | Flowers: Purple Heather Florist | Cake: Sweet Chic | Food: The Taylor Made Kitchen | Music: Deon Byworth

  • CHARLOTTE & CHARLIE | Pastel-blues and Tweed, an Outdoor Wedding at Burythorpe House, Malton.

Childhood sweethearts, Charlie and Charlotte chose their venue because of it’s sentimental value to both of them; after forming their relationship at just 16, having left school they've loved being in each others’ company ever since. At just 17 Charlie treated Charlotte to a mini-break in the countryside and guess where they ended up…You’re absolutely right! It was Burythorpe House, near Malton and ever since they’ve revisited the place for special occasions, including their engagement last year. Therefore, it made absolute sense to become Mr & Mrs Holland here too. Their day was full of happiness, laughter and beautiful memories as their guests spoke fondly of Charlotte’s late father. They are both thoughtful people and clearly have a keen eye for details, being welcomed in to the ceremony by a live pianist was something Charlotte spoke excitedly about. Her Dad had been a keen performer and pianist before he passed, he also loved to wear red socks, which the pair wanted to represent on the day too, so Charlie and the groomsmen all wore red socks. These two have a close-knit and loving community of friends and family, it was obvious to see as they walked down the aisle to their outdoor ceremony. As Charlotte and her Mum arrived, the sun beamed down, as the piano notes drifted across the lawn in perfect tune with the laugher of Jackson their son and Ellie the flower girl. It was an emotional time for Charlotte with her Mum accompanying her for support. The pair have already been through a lot together so when Charlotte’s Mum describe Charlie as Charlotte’s rock through a very emotional speech there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. They laughed and they cried, before enjoying the food and wine they had both so passionately chosen. Both Charlotte and Charlie described themselves as foodies and had taken a lot of thought and time in choosing their meal for them and their guests. Charlie told me how Charlotte has an infectious smile and how he loves that she’s such a wonderful mother to their son Jackson, she’s kind, affectionate and confident he admitted. Charlotte said me how Charlie makes her laugh everyday and has the cheekiest of smiles, which I think he’s passed on to Jackson. She also told me how he’s a keen cook (Charlotte’s personal chef) and that he’s the best friend she could ever wish for. • LOUBIE & AMY | Rainbow Wedding at 1331 in York, with Hand-fasting, Bubble Boys and Drag Queens.

When Amy and Loubie told about the plans for their day, I couldn’t believe how wild and wonderfully, wacky they sounded...They turned the day upside down and filled it full so they could enjoy NOT being the centre of attention. Not only did we do their photos before the ceremony as we walked from The Churchill to 1331, they told me how they’d be welcomed in to the ceremony together through a curtain of bubbles. Before we got to the ceremony we enjoyed a walk through the Museum Gardens in York, where we stopped in a few pre-planned places to get some awesome snaps of these two. Amy and Loubie had dressed their ushers in bright pink suits and entitled them the bubble boys. Before they walked down the aisle, they got the bubble boys to do a show stopping performance where they covered the guests in bubbles before creating a curtain of them for the pair to walk through as the cruised down the aisle together. They didn't stop here, they gave me the heads-up that a drag queen would burst in as they left the ceremony to surprise their guests. After a show stopping entrance Amy and Loubie thoughtfully exchanged their vows followed by participating in the joining of both of their families, particularly Erin, Amy’s daughter with a traditional hand fastening carried out by Krystyna Hebb their friend and celebrant. Ironically it was actually a day of celebrating for Krystyna too, being her 20th Wedding Anniversary, surely this has to be a good omen if you believe in such things. The entertainment didn’t stop after this, as they enjoyed a brief bit of chatter with fizz and canapés in the secret gardens of 1331, before setting off to another set of gardens at the Minster with their entire wedding party of around 50 people for photos. Loubie and Amy had asked their guests to come wearing rainbow colours to represent the colours of the pride flag-when we did their photos they asked everyone to group together in the colours to form the flags pattern, this looked great. I'm not sure people knew what to think as they saw two brides leading the masses through the streets of York, it was truly an incredible thing to be part of! • LAUREN & ELLIOTT | A traditional, church wedding at St Laurence’s followed by dancing at the NCEM.

Tradition was really important to Lauren and Elliott, so when they discussed their service with the Vicar at St Laurence’s, they decided to go for an Old English service, one like their grandparents might have had. It was totally different and nothing like I’ve heard before, it were like watching a period drama/film, which was stunning. It wasn’t just the service they stopped at, these two are both really sentimental people. Lauren had been given some of her “Big Grandma’s “ earrings a little while ago and because sadly she’s no longer with us but had been a big part of Lauren’s life, they wanted her to be there somehow. With this in mind, she had the earrings adapted and attached to her wedding shoes to glitz them up in the classiest way she could. They also had a butterfly in each of the bridesmaid's bouquets, this was to represent Elliott’s niece, who would have been in her early teenaged years now. This is how everyone in Elliott’s family remember her, so it was not only a thoughtful addition to the flowers but a beautiful one too. These two are very much full of life, they love to be busy and immersed in whatever they do, so their day was crammed full and after the church service they hoped in the back of the wedding car and I got a ride too! We drove around some of York's most beautiful landmarks and gardens for photos. Lauren and Elliott met and live in York, the city means a lot to them both, so they wanted this to shine though in their photos. When we joined everyone else at the NCEM (Nation Centre for Early Music) in was about time to eat, so they greeted everyone in the traditional line-up form and then enjoyed a banquet of food, before dancing the night away with Aluinn, a professional Ceilidh Band, who talked everyone through a series of dances during two sets of music. What fun this was the watch! • SARA & CHRIS | Beautifully-rustic wedding at Sneaton Castle Whitby

Enjoying the moment was always the most important thing to Sara and Chris on their wedding day; having fun with their friends and family was key. The couple didn’t originally book their day at Sneaton Castle, even so, when all went “Pete Tong” and their venue closed its’ doors, they then came across the Castle. From the moment they discovered it they couldn’t imagine doing their day anyway else. They told me how when they first visited Sneaton Castle they couldn’t believe how beautiful it was, another big plus factor was, it was bang in the middle for both of their families too. They loved the sleek, clean and quirky interior along with the picturesque gardens another winning pro was that they could do everything onsite, from Sara getting ready to saying their vows in the stunning chapel. The couple loved the rustic set up of the banquet hall and chose to use the wooden set up for the tables, just incase you’re wondering Sneaton Castle have tablewares to suit every genre. Last time I was there, it was all vintage tea-cups and saucers. Everything from the name places, to the plates were made of wood or to look like they were. The cake stands were particularly wonderful, with the stem being formed from a garden spade handle! Sara and Chris didn’t want anyone to be at a loose end, so with the help of Sara's Mum, they arranged for a show stopping performance from the Silver Service Singers. As usual their performance was a talking point after they burst in to song, having gone head-long across the dinning room floor, whilst carrying a tray of cutlery. Truly hilarious form my point of view (Because I knew it was a set up, not because I'm heartless.) and all part of the act!
